One Week Until Election Day

I found an email from Huntley Brown here entitled “Why I Can’t Vote for Obama.” Here are some of his reasons:

[Obama's] voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007 . . . . Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. . . .

He voted ‘No’ on banning partial birth abortion. . . . Let’s take a look at the practice he wants to continue. The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:

A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby’s leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby’s leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby’s entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby’s skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child’s brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

. . .Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama; can you really look God in the face and say; ‘Father, based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.’

Blessings,

Huntley Brown”

But then, there’s McCain who doesn’t seem to be so great on the moral character scale either. I’ve read he has a horrible temper, cheated on his first wife, and apparently doesn’t respect his second wife (please excuse the potty language).

So, what to do about the election? I’m not quite sure what to do, but I know that “as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).

Do You Know Who To Vote For?

I’m not a very political person, but I will always make sure to vote. Early voting started here in Texas yesterday. You can check here to see when/if your state begins early voting.

Would you like to find out which candidate your ideas align with most closely? I used this Electoral Compass Guide before they had picked McCain and Obama to be the presidential candidates. And I used it after they narrowed it down to McCain and Obama. You can try another quiz here.

I wouldn’t say I’m 100% on board w/ McCain; in fact, the tests revealed that it’s more of in the 60-70%. Now, if Mike Huckabee were on the ballot, I’d for sure give him all my support. Yea for Huckabee– a very nice man. I met him in Little Rock during our Business Plan Competition in 2006.

But I will say that I will never be able to vote for a president, in this case, Obama, who supports abortion. Can’t do it.
