Happy 3 Months Lydia

We’ve seen big improvements from you in the last couple of weeks.  You’re adjusting better to life outside of the womb.

  • You weigh 11 lb, 11 oz (almost a 4 lb gain since birth).
  • Not sure on your current height, but at your last check up (at 2 months, you were 23.5 inches), you were in the 90% on height.  You’re about to outgrow your bassinet.  Everyone always comments on how long you are.
  • You rolled over from your stomach to your back.
  • You’re still so fidgety.  You are only still when you’re asleep.
  • You try to sit up and stand alllll the time.

standing; something she loves to do

  • You track us really well with your eyes.
  • You went swimming for the first time.

  • You “talk” a lot.
  • You seem to be the happiest baby these days.  What a change from your first 3 months!  You smile allll day long. You do still have a fussy time from about 9:30-11pm, but other than that, you’re happy.

  • You laugh now!  Love it!  I can’t believe you’re laughing so soon.  Thank you for this!
  • You’re doing soooo much better in the sleeping department.  You go 8-9.5 hours in between eating at night.  Most nights, you go right to sleep without fussing, but some nights, you pout for up to 5 minutes, and then, you settle down.  Also, your naps are great!  You have 4 one and a half hour naps.  No crying.  Love it!
  • You always get comments on your big, beautiful eyes.

Here’s a short video of you at 9 weeks old.

We love you, and we’re so happy you’re a part of our family.

Another Sonogram

Well we had another sonogram a couple of days ago.  Here are some things we learned:

  • Baby is no longer breech.
  • My placenta is no longer low-lying.
  • Baby is measuring 13 days ahead of schedule.  [At the last ultrasound, Baby was 4 days ahead.]
  • They estimated Baby to weigh 3.5 lbs already.
  • Baby’s heartbeat was 147.
  • I have another sonogram scheduled in late March.

Here are some of the pictures we got:

And here’s what I look like:

Halloween Parties

We had two Halloween parties: one the night before and one on Halloween.  We took Abigail to the first one but decided to let her stay the night with GramB and PapaBon for the second one.  I forgot to take many pictures of the first one.

I’ve got a Bun in the Oven, and Jonathan’s the Bun Maker

You can click on the pictures to see the details of my costume.  It was simple to make, and it was super cheap!  We only had to buy the apron ($3), chef hat ($3), spray paint, and a hot glue gun.  We had all the other stuff on hand.  The oven box is made from Abi’s Huggies diaper box.

As you read here, she was a little lamb.

Halloween night we went to a party thrown by our besties, Tiffany and Justin (Tinkerbell & Peter Pan).w/ Tiff (Tinkerbell) and Justin (Peter Pan)

Nancy & Jacob came as a UPS worker and his package

Happy 15 Months Abigail

I honestly can’t believe we’ve been blessed with Abigail for 15 months!  Time sure flies!  Here’s her 14th Month Movie:

Dear Abigail,

My favorite time of the day is when I go to get you in the morning.  Most of the time, you’re asleep (thank you for sleeping until 9 am!), and I love seeing you so peaceful in your crazy random positions.  But I adore when you wake up on your own and I can hear you saying, “Mama, Mama” from your bedroom.  When I knock on the door to get you, the smile on your face is priceless.

I must admit that you are a Momma’s Girl right now.  I’m sure you’ll become a Daddy’s Girl when you’re older, so I just want you to remember that for at least the first 15 months of your life, you thought your Momma hung the moon.  You are my shadow: always following me, calling my name, patting my legs to sit on my lap, crying when I leave the room, lighting up when I pick you up from bible class, and only being comforted by me.  You make me feel special!

Thank you for bringing the best joy into my life.  You are my treasure.  You are my P&J. I will love you always,

Momma

How to Make: A Favicon

If you use Firefox or an updated version of Internet Explorer, you might notice a little icon in the address bar, to the left of http:// . . . .  These are called favicons.

Gmail’s favicon is an M over an envelope, Craiglist’s favicon is a peace sign, Ebay’s favicon is “ebay”.  If a website has not customized a favicon, the icon looks like a blank page (see blue arrow in above image).  Boring.  I noticed these favicons a few months ago and decided I wanted one.  So, I chose a Gerber Daisy (see red arrow in above picture).  They’re my favorite.  Hint hint.

Anyway, if you don’t have a favicon yet, here’s how you can get one . . .

  1. favicon.cc- On this site, you can “paint” your own favicon (16 x 16 pixels).  You can upload an image, use animation, adjust the color, or paint it.
  2. FavIcon from Pics- On this site, you can upload any image, and the site will make your favicon to the right size.  You can animate it or add color or words.
  3. favicon generator- This site gives you a cleaner looking image because you must upload an image that is the correct size (100 x 100 pixels).  So, you can only use this site if you can scale an image to be 100 pixels square on your own.  I chose to use this site.  I made the image with Microsoft Picture It, but I’m sure that any photo editing software you have can also resize an image to the correct proportions.

Did you use another site to make a favicon?  Are you going to make one now?  Let me know if you have questions.

Happy Birthday to . . .

Happy Birthday to one of my “Top 2 Favorite Men in the World”.

going to a world cup game in '94

Dear Daddy,

I wish every man could watch you be a dad . . . because there would be a lot less problems in the world.  When I was younger, my friends thought you were the coolest because you refereed soccer, coached our teams, hit pop flies to us, taught Tommorrow’s Timothies, made some great food, could tell them where they were reading from in the bible, and drove ‘ole blue truck.  You are the best dad out there.proud new grandpa

I admire your humor, kindness, and wisdom.  And I wish, I wish I could be as patient and helpful as you are.  I love your love for sports and God– it led me to a husband who loves both of those, and I am so happy with him.  But back to you: I really am in awe of how you are consistently pleasant to be around and always have a smile on your face.  I wish I could be more like that.  Thank you for loving me and our family so well.
