Update

Yes, I know it’s been awhile.  Things are just too crazy and special to find time to blog.  The only time I get a chance to be alone is when the girls’ naps overlap, and all I wanna do at that time is relax.  Sorry.  I will continue to post, but it’s not gonna be every day– or maybe even every week.  If you want to subscribe with RSS, you’ll be able to keep track of my posts better.

Here’s my lazy way of recording memories . . .

  • We went to a concert by Josh Wilson.  He is a friend from High School and has now made a name for himself in the Christian music world.  I’m so proud of him; he’s ridiculously talented and a great Christian guy.  So, do yourself a favor and check out his music.  Below is a picture of us in HS and a picture of him at the concert.

  • Our family was on the second page of our city’s newspaper last Friday.  Out of the 95 pictures they took at the concert, they chose ours to be featured in the newspaper.

  • Abi is potty training.  She’s gone a few days of being completely dry- but we’re having issues with the pooping.  Any tips!??

  • Abi melts our hearts lately with the stuff she says about God.  Yesterday, she said, “I’m gonna get the monkey baptized. It goes like this. He goes under the water.” Then 10 minutes later, “I’m gonna lie Rachel down and get her baptized.”  She can say all the New Testament books by herself and sings tons of “adult” Christian songs by herself.

  • Lydia is 4 months now and sleeps 11.5 hours at night.  Yesterday, I had to wake her up for church.  Thank you Lord for happy sleepers who fit into our scheduling plans.
  • had to wake her up

  • I’m gonna start making Lydia baby food in the next few weeks.

  • I’ve frozen my Amish bread starter, so I’m done with that for awhile. I’m happy to say that with 5 different times of making it, I only threw away one starter.  And really, I made Jonathan do it because I can’t stand to waste food- or well, anything.  It’s a blessing . . .  and a curse.
  • I’ve been doing lots of crafty things lately

bows I've been making for Abicrayon roll unrolled car mat #1

  • Jonathan and I are starting to read Crazy Love.  I just finished reading The Last Song, so I’m ready for a new Nicholas Sparks book to come out.  I’m also gonna start reading a Jodi Picoult book and an Ann Brashares book.  They’re on my desk right now, begging for me to pick them up, so I think I will.

Free Stuff for July

Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted freebies.  Well, here you go . . .

I’m with COCO and Brett Favre

My brothers and I always stayed up late to watch Late Night with Conan O’Brien.  We’ve always loved him.  There is no one funnier than he.  And luckily, the husband has good taste in comedians, too, and he prefers Conan to all the rest.  I’m sure you’ve heard the latest news about Jay Leno (UGH) trying to take the Tonight Show back from Conan.  But have you seen this video, where Jimmy Kimmel cracks on Leno during his interview?  Love it!

Also, I’m sure you’re aware of the playoffs for the Superbowl.  Well, I’ve always been a Packers fan, mostly because of Brett Favre.  But now, he plays for the Vikings, so I’m cheering for them.  Below is a video of him leading his team in “Pants on the Ground.”

Let Them Be Little

Ever since I got pregnant again, I’ve been watching Abigail and wishing that she wouldn’t grow up.  I hate to think that I might be “replacing” her baby time with a new baby.  I know she’s becoming an awesome toddler, but I wish she could still be “little.”

Bohemian Rhapsody on Computer Hardware

If you like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” (as I do), you’ll need to check this out.  It’s the song played with computer hardware.

The maker of the video says,

No effects or sampling were used.  What you see is what you hear (does that even make sense?)
Atari 800XL - piano
Texas Instruments TI-99/4a - electric guitar
8 Inch Floppy Disk - bass
3.5 inch Harddrive - gong
HP ScanJet 3C - all vocals

Walrus Dancing to a Michael Jackson Song

In honor of the king of pop who was probably the greatest dancer ever, here’s a Walrus dancing to MJ’s song, “Smooth Criminal.”

I so want to go to Sea World or somewhere to see marine animals doing stuff like this.  Anyone ever been to Sea World?  What state?  Or is there some other place like Sea World that you’d recommend?

Wedding Music Video

Why didn’t I think to do this for my wedding.  It would’ve been awesome.  I’ve never heard this song, which is weird because I LOVE Queen!  Anyway, such a neat video:

FREE Coldplay Album

I posted this over here in a long list, but I thought it deserved its own post, too.

Coldplay is offering you a download of their new album for FREE for today only (I think).

I’m listening to it as I type.  Yea!  Thank you Coldplay!

Britain’s Got Talent

Susan Boyle is 48 years old and has always dreamed of becoming a professional singer.   Boyle has said that lives alone with only her cat, she’s never had a boyfriend, and she’s never been kissed.  So no one expected her to shine like she did.  But, I’m so glad she did.  This proves that you can’t always bet on first impressions.

Since she has become popular from Britain’s Got Talent, people have searched for more of her singing.  This recording of Cry Me a River by Boyle was made back in 1999

You are Amazing God

God’s Mighty Power

Have you ever given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place? . . . Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep? . . .  Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?  . . . Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail? . . . What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth? . . .Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion?  Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs?  – Job 38:12-32

The following song “Indescribable” is by my favorite Christian artist Chris Tomlin.  It speaks of God’s awesome power with nature.
