A representative from Stonyfield Farms contacted me to see if I would host another YoBaby Giveaway! They wanted Abigail to review their 6 oz YoBaby 3 in 1 Meals. Here’s what their site says about this yogurt:
It’s packed with fruit, veggies, and essential nutrients.
YoBaby yogurt on top and an ounce of fruit and veggie puree on the bottom
The current flavors: Pear & Green Bean, Peach & Squash, and Apple & Sweet Potato
Each grab & go cup provides more than a 1/3rd of your toddler’s daily protein & calcium needs, plus other essential nutrients like Zinc, Vitamin A and Vitamin D.
I chose Apples & Sweet Potatoes for Abigail. I’ll let her tell you what she thought of it in this video . . . .

I need to get in a better habit of this, but sometimes I set up play dates for Abigail. I read somewhere (sorry, I can’t find the link) that you could make “business” cards for your little ones to invite kids/parents to play dates.
I haven’t made any yet, but I saw that Moo is offering a special on business cards (get a pack of ten for FREE with FREE s&h). I’m thinking of making up some cards because while I may have a pen with me in our diaper bag, I almost never have something to write down the address/phone number/times that would be best to play together.
Actually, I’m making the card right now. Here’s what it will look like:
The blacked out parts are phone number, email address, and home address. Go make your own.
Oh, and be sure to choose “standard shipping” for it to be free. The default is set at “priority”.

Contrary to what some of you might think, I am not pregnant. I do baby posts every now and then because I feel like it’s what I know (other than sports and grammar, and I don’t think any of my readers are interested in either of those things). Anyway . . .
If you have a pet and are pregnant, you might be worried about how your animal will react to a new baby. I was! I don’t know if these things would work well for a cat or other animal, but they worked well for our dog, Sabra.
Desensitize your pet to the rough handling of babies and toddlers. This is best to start when you have a puppy: touch the puppy in places where a child most likely will: tail, ears, nose, mouth, and in between their paws. If you don’t consciously do this, a dog will probably not be touched/pulled/grabbed here, so when a child does it, the dog will snap and react. So, if you prep the dog enough to where he’s not bothered by it, it should help.
Take the dog to places where there are little kids like parks. The goal is not necessarily to have the dog interact with the kids but to let the dog see how kids act.
Let your dog hear baby sounds. I would watch A Baby Story on TLC and other shows that had babies crying. Each time the baby would cry, I say to Sabra, “See that’s a baby. The baby is crying.” She needed to hear these sounds so she could adjust and wouldn’t be caught off guard by a newborn crying all day.
Carry around a baby doll. Your dog will become familiar with you holding something delicate. You can let your dog investigate the baby doll, so you can teach him boundaries like, “Don’t lick the baby. Please don’t scratch her arm.”
Let your dog smell the baby. We had my in-laws take home a baby blanket that had been wrapped around Abigail in the hospital. They let Sabra become familiar with her smell.
Praise the dog for good behavior around the baby.
Ask your veterinarian for other tips.
Just because your dog may not act well around certain kids, doesn’t mean the dog will be bad with your child. When our one year old nephew would come over, Sabra would start to nip at him and herd him when he got near her food. This really concerned me.
But Sabra is great with Abigail. Abigail goes near Sabra’s food, touches it, and Sabra doesn’t bat an eye. They are great friends. Well, Sabra tolerates her, but Abby ADORES Sabra. Abigail gives her biggest smiles and laughs because of Sabra, and it makes my heart happy.
Let me start out by saying that I’m not saying that I don’t believe that the following situation cannot happen because I hated it when I heard people say that “parents who say their babies sleep through the night are lying.” Abigail totally did very early, and I didn’t want people thinking I was lying about that. So anyway . . .
At our garage sale, a family came with their 9 month old. Here’s how our conversation went:
Man: How old is she?
Me: 15 months.
Man: So, is she off the Pampers?
Me: Umm, do you mean, ‘Is she potty trained?’
Man: Yep.
Me: Um, no, she’s only 15 months, and we’re not going to work on that for awhile.
Man: Oh, that’s weird.
Me: What do you mean?
Man: My oldest child was off the Pampers at one year.
Hmmm. I’m not accusing him of lying, by any means. I’m just skeptical. Abigail is a very smart girl, but I know she’s incapable of pulling down underwear, sitting on a potty, wiping, washing hands, etc.
So, I just wanted to know from you parents: How old was your child when you started potty training, and when were they fully trained.

A few weeks ago, someone from church had a baby, and I signed up to take food over to her family. I waited until this time to take a gift for the new baby, too. On the way out the door, I thought of the older sibling (a 3 year old) and wondered how she was doing adjusting to the new baby. And I thought, “She’s probably feeling left out– especially with the baby getting new gifts, so I’ll take some stuff for her.”
Little kids at that age are great cause you don’t have to spend much money to satisfy them. So, I found a kaleidoscope, a ring, some heart shaped pink glasses, a toy Belle, and some other little things.
The older sibling was so happy to have a new gift, too. And her mom thanked me for thinking of her, also. She said her daughter had been saving her money to buy new sunglasses, so she was really excited about them.
So, if you’ve got a friend who’s had a baby recently, go help her by taking some food, doing some errands, cleaning, taking a gift, etc . . . but especially remember the older children. Just look in the party favor section if you’re not sure what they’re into.
