Videos that Make Me Laugh, part 2

Do you Swagger?

“Wanna make you smile; wanna be your sunshine!”

Videos that Make Me Laugh

You’ll love this if you’re a parent.  And if you know my older brother, pause it at 2:24, and tell me if it looks like him.

“Cluck, cluck, cluck.  You touch my chicken, I beat you up . . .”

World Cup 2010

On Tuesday, Brasil will be playing their first game in the 2010 World Cup!  Finalmente!  We’re gearing up for tomorrow’s big game; here’s my to-do list:

  1. Make Abigail a Brasil soccer shirt with freezer stenciling (Check out the picture.  I’ll do a tutorial for how you can make your own personalized shirts–if you want–at some point in time.)
  2. Make Lydia a Brasil shirt
  3. Get a new WC Brasil shirt for me  (thanks Judy!)
  4. Make Brigadeiros
  5. Make Pao de Queijo
  6. Have Guarana ready to drink  (thanks Daniel!  I only have two left from my Xmas/Bday gift.  I’m drinking on for Brasil’s opening game and saving the other for the final, in which I hope Brasil will be playing.)
  7. Pray that the girls will be napping or otherwise not needing my attention during the game.
  8. Celebrate like crazy

Va Brasil. O tudo mundo tenta, mas so Brasil e penta!!!

Happy 23 Months

  • This might be one of your longest sentences: “I wish the Uncle Daniel and the Uncle Josh were here.”
  • You have started saying things that we have said (only days after we first said it) like: When you were feeding Sabra her dog food, you said, “It’s good to share, Momma.”  And when you were playing with something I told you days before that you shouldn’t play with, you said, “It’s dangerous for little girls.”
  • Lately, you’ve been taking 1+ hour(s) to fall asleep some nights.  You just lie in bed talking and talking and talking.  Here’s one thing you said that made us laugh, “Abby is trying to get out of the crib.”  Also, after GramB’s birthday party, you yelled in a demonic voice, “Happy Birthday GramB . . .” about 100 times.
  • Can count to 10 every time perfectly (which is in the video).  We’re working on 20 now.
  • You’re getting so much better with your colors.  You always know orange, yellow, red, and green.  You normally call blue “black.”
  • You have conversations with yourself.  You’ll says things like, “I’m going to the living room.  Wanna come?  Oooooookay.” or “This polar bear is white.  That’s right, Sissah (what she calls Sabra).”  or “Abi wants to get the box; I can’t a reach it.  Oh, Abi help.”
  • We still love to hear you pray every night.  Here’s part of your prayer from last night, “Dear God, Thank you for the two doors over there.  One, two, three . . . Yeah.  That’s right!”
  • You’ve memorized several of your books, like “The Monster at the End of the Book”, “Brown Bear” “Jamberry”, and “Safari Animals.”

Here’s her video below (If you’re reading in RSS, you’ll probably have to go to the site to see the video.  If you don’t have facebook, and you want to see the video, let me know.).

Go here to take the “Is it a Boy or a Girl?” poll.

I’m with COCO and Brett Favre

My brothers and I always stayed up late to watch Late Night with Conan O’Brien.  We’ve always loved him.  There is no one funnier than he.  And luckily, the husband has good taste in comedians, too, and he prefers Conan to all the rest.  I’m sure you’ve heard the latest news about Jay Leno (UGH) trying to take the Tonight Show back from Conan.  But have you seen this video, where Jimmy Kimmel cracks on Leno during his interview?  Love it!

Also, I’m sure you’re aware of the playoffs for the Superbowl.  Well, I’ve always been a Packers fan, mostly because of Brett Favre.  But now, he plays for the Vikings, so I’m cheering for them.  Below is a video of him leading his team in “Pants on the Ground.”

Let Them Be Little

Ever since I got pregnant again, I’ve been watching Abigail and wishing that she wouldn’t grow up.  I hate to think that I might be “replacing” her baby time with a new baby.  I know she’s becoming an awesome toddler, but I wish she could still be “little.”

Happy 20 Months Abigail (9 Days Late) with Video

You are acting like such a big girl these days, and you’re so much fun.

  • You’ve almost got 16 teeth; your top canines are coming in a little bit.  But you’re a trooper through it all.  You never even wake up at night from pain.  Thank you!  I hope your baby sibling will sleep as well as you always have.
  • You know words to songs, and you’ll sing them, if we pause during a song.
  • Sabra is playing with you a little more (as you’ll see in your video).  She actually goes and gets her toys when you throw them now.  You think she’s the greatest thing on earth.
  • You say your own prayers every night or whenever prompted.  I love them!
  • You can say up to eight word sentences.  Here are some sentences that stick out:

-”Just look at that pumpkin flashlight!”

-”I want to get in bed.” (I sing you a few songs while rocking you before your nap time.  Before I sing you a new song, I ask, “Do you want to sing ____ or get in bed?”  It’s so cute when you say you want to get in bed.  Awesome.)

-”Shhhh. quiet; ______ is sleeping.”  We act like we’re sleeping, and you come give us a kiss to wake us up.  You even kiss Momma’s belly to wake up baby.

-”I see you later, Alligator.”

-”The girl is eating a bite of [an] orange orange.”

-”Ooopsy Daisy, Elbows.”  You have this thing about touching your elbows, especially at night when you’re going to bed.  Now that it’s winter, a lot of your night time shirts have long sleeves, and sometimes you get frustrated when you can’t pull your sleeves up to touch your elbows.

-”[Abi cough] Bless you Abi.  [fake Abi cough] Bless you Abi.  [fake Abi cough] Bless you Abi. [repeat process about 20 times].”

  • You are learning to obey really well.  Most times, I’ll tell you to come here, or stop doing something, and you will!
  • You got your first real hair cut.  And we’re trying to grow out your hair, but it’s an annoying process because it’s as straight, thin, and whispy as your daddy’s, and it doesn’t want to go anywhere except for hanging in your eyes.  But you’re better about wearing bows to keep your top hair from getting into your eyes.
  • You’re still afraid of the vacuum cleaner.  I think it’s the only thing you fear.  We kinda like it though, because you’ll cuddle with whomever is not vacuuming.  And this is the only time you cuddle.  And by cuddle, I mean sit still on our laps.
  • In big church, you say, “Amen” really loudly after prayers.  Yesterday, you also saw one of your friends, and YELLED “Maddison!”  All those around laughed.

Here’s your video:

“The Office” Wedding Entrance

Remember when I posted this video about a Wedding Entrance.  Apparently “The Office” thought it was cool, too, and they copied it!  Awesome.

So, if you’re an Office fan and haven’t seen “The Office: Niagara, Part 2,” then warning: this is an except below.  Be sure to pay attention to 2:15; Jonathan and I laughed for about a half hour after seeing that part.  Gotta love Dwight.  And yes, I got a little teary eyed during the whole thing.  I like to blame it on the evil pregnancy hormones, but yea for PB&J finally getting married!

Happy 19th Month Bday (5 Days Late)

So I’m a little slow these days getting posts up; sorry.  You might be slow, too, if you spent 100% of the day being nauseated and throwing up about 3x a day.  So, in case you didn’t get Abigail’s hint on Friday, I’m pregnant.  But I’ll talk about that later in many other posts, I’m sure.  It’s Abby time . . .

Here are some changes we’ve seen in Abigail over the past month:

  • She loves to spin around.  She twirls in circles probably 10 different times during the day.  It’s fun to watch her get dizzy; she laughs at herself.
  • She also likes to jump, and she’s getting better with throwing balls.  Sabra is finally playing fetch with her.  She’s already really precise with kicking a soccer ball (YEA!).
  • She’s got at least 14 teeth.
  • She’s becoming more of a Daddy’s Girl (yea!).  Because I’m not able to do much these days, Jonathan does 100% of her diaper changes, baths, etc when he’s home.  So, Abi’s going to him more when she wants a book read or wants a song played.
  • She says pretty much every word we say.  She puts together 4-5 word sentences.
  • She doesn’t want to get her picture taken much anymore because she wants to “watch” the digital screen on the camera instead.  You’ll see this in two of the video clips I put in her 18th Month Movie.
  • She’s getting into stickers.  She’ll point to the one she wants and say, “Want this a one please”, and I’ll get it off for her.
  • When she wants us to chase her, she’ll say, “I got you . . . bah, bah, bah, . . .”
  • She’s wanting to be more independent: like in her eating (not wanting us to spoon/fork the food and give it to her).  And yet, she also wants to still be the baby: like in the last few weeks, she wants to be held more instead of her walking by herself.
  • She sees friends–not just family– and calls them by name, without us having to say their name.

Well, here’s her 18th Month Movie below:
