Some tips about requesting samples or buying anything online. I’ve never had any problems; these are just me being extra careful.
- I always put Mrs in the “first name” column– not my first name.
- I type in a fake number if they ask for a phone number.
- I have set up an email account that I only use for requesting samples. Be sure to do this, so you don’t fill up your personal email account with newsletters.
- I don’t give my correct birth date; I type the same year I was born, but I mix up the month and day.
Be patient for your samples, some of them take up to 8-12 weeks to come. Check out the past weeks’ samples, as many of them are still good.

Lasagna Recipe Sans Ricotta Cheese
Posted in Tipster Tuesday on 08/26/2009 11:50 am by loriI love lasagna when its made without ricotta or cottage cheese. Just give me the mozzarella, and I’m good. My Grandma makes the best lasagna, but she uses a tomato paste mixture, etc. I found it easier to just use spaghetti sauce, so, here’s my altered recipe for Lasagna from my Grandma:
Ingredients
- 1-1.5 lbs of Ground Beef, depending on how much meat you like
- 32 oz of Spaghetti Sauce
- 1/4 cup of Water
- 9 Lasagna Noodles
- 3 cups of Mozzarella Cheese (I also add some Parmesan blend)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine sauce, meat, and water.
Spread 1 1/4 cup of sauce mixture on the bottom of a 9×13 dish.
Top with half of the Uncooked lasagna noodles.
Top with half of the mozzarella cheese
Repeat all layers (sauce, noodles, cheese).- Cover tightly with foil, and bake for 1 hour.

What Would You Do?
Posted in Whatever Wednesday on 08/19/2009 01:00 am by loriOkay, a guy who was in his late teens or early twenties delivered some food from Schwann’s (I blogged about this here under Food & Drink). It was the free food (with FREE SHIPPING) that we ordered with this special.
So here’s how our conversation went down. The guy is in blue, and I’m in purple.
You owe $1.00.
I’m pretty sure I don’t.
Hey, I’m not trying to pocket anything [RED FLAG, Idiot!]. But you do owe a dollar.
Well, I was sent an invoice and it said I owe $0.00, and it specifically said that the shipping and handling would be free of charge.
Here, let me show you. . . . [He got his digital thingy and showed me a fake invoice with no name, no address, etc. All it said was $1.00. I knew he was full of crap.]
Okay, I’ll contact the company and send them a check. [Boo-yah!]
No, you don’t need to do that.
But I will; I’ll check on it, and I’ll send them a check if that’s what I owe. [fully knowing that I don't owe anything!]
Well, if you’re gonna get upset, I can pay the fee for you. [HA! yeah right] Let me get your food.
Later, as I was getting online to look up the phone number of the company, I get a telephone call from said delivery guy saying, “Um, I’m, uh, I apologize. That was, uh, a mistake. Have a good day.”
Soooo, I want to report him to the company so that he won’t jip (is this how you spell jip? the spell checker is not giving me suggestions!) a nice old lady or anyone else for that matter.
But, he also knows where I live and that I have a baby girl. . . so what do I do?? What would you do?
