How to Make Brigadeiros

Brigadeiros are the most popular candy in Brasil.  They are made mostly for birthday parties and Christmas.  I also choose to have them every now and then for a nice pick me up.  They are, by far, my favorite chocolates.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of Nestle Quick
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • I small package of chocolate Sprinkles

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-medium low heat, combine Nestle Quick, butter, and condensed milk. Stir the whole time while cooking.  Don’t stop. Cook until thickened, about 10-15 minutes. (It is ready when the mixture doesn’t stick to the bottom when the pan is tilted.)
  2. Remove from heat and pour the mixture in a lightly greased dish. Cool to room temperature or put in the fridge for a little bit.
  3. Grease your hands with margarine to roll the mixture into little balls (about 1.5 inches).
  4. Roll the balls into chocolate sprinkles (or as Jonathan would call them, Rat Poop).
  5. Put into mini cupcake paper.

It makes about 40 candies.  I challenge you to find a better tasting, easy to make, homemade chocolate.  Go make them, and then, come back here and let me know what you thought.  I will accept $1 donations for making your life a little better with this Tipster Tuesday.
